Subaru Legacy
| | Model of the car: | Subaru Legacy | | | General comments: | My 1993 Subaru Legacy Wagon AWD has been a great car for me over the past seven years. I've racked up 163,000 miles with only a few repairs. I live in Salt Lake City, Utah and conditions around here can get pretty sketchy a few times a year but the car has kept me safe and sound. I've also done some very stupid things with the car in off road situtations. From snow to mud to rocky terrain the car has never failed me. I have never lost control in this car.
I'm in the market for another car but I have no good reason to buy one. The car is in great shape mechanically and cosmetically it's held up well. The only failure is the tachometer needle that needs to be tapped into life every now and then. This however isn't too big a deal considering it's an automatic. I've stopped going to a dealership for repairs after the warranty expired. My mechanic who has his own shop in Salt Lake raves about the cars. When I asked his advice on a new car he told me; "For reliabilty you can't do better than a Subaru.".
The AWD is simply amazing and coupled with it's low center of gravity and it's weighty, solid feel I have absolutely no interest in any SUV type alternative out there.d | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Poor acceleration. Clearance is a bit low. Few creature comforts. Subarus are everywhere in Salt Lake City. It's the modern equivalent of the VW Bug craze of the 1970s. | | | Previous car: | You name it. I travel. I rent. Audi to VW |
